There’s something entirely unmatched about visiting a winery. It’s not just the wine, it’s the full experience—it’s the drive out of the city, where the landscape slowly begins to shift; the way the sun hits the vines just right; the chance to chat with the people who live and breathe the art of winemaking. Fowles Wine, just north of Melbourne’s CBD, has taken this experience and elevated it completely with their new Ginger Prince Garden Bar.
Last week, Not Safe For Queers were fortunate enough to be invited along to experience Fowles’ new garden bar, and we can confidently say it’s a must-visit. With its vibrant garden setting that brings together great wine, excellent food, and the kind of relaxed, celebratory vibe we all crave on a sunny weekend, Fowles has created a bottomless brunch that’s hard to beat.

The Ginger Prince Garden Bar is a bold celebration of summer, with its playful aesthetic and laid-back charm. It’s the kind of place where you can sip a fruity, chilled glass of wine while soaking up the sights and sounds of a working winery.
The garden bar is inspired by Fowles’ Ginger Prince range, a collection of light, crisp wines designed for easy drinking. One standout is the bubbly Ginger Prince Moscato—our personal fave—which perfectly captures the fruity, refreshing notes of summer without being too sweet.
And although this marks Fowles’ first foray into the world of bottomless brunches, it comes with all the trimmings (and by that, we mean a stellar food offering).
For $59, Fowles’ bottomless brunch includes an enticing mix of brekky staples and creative twists (think deconstructed smashed avo plus cheese board). Later in the day, the menu shifts to heartier offerings, with house-smoked meats, vibrant salads, and their signature pink burger providing something for everyone.
The setting itself elevates the experience. While sitting in the garden you can hear the hum of the winery in the background and feel the kind of fresh Avenellian air that makes every sip and bite taste just a little better.
But the Ginger Prince Garden Bar isn’t just about food and wine; it’s about the feeling of escaping the city and embracing the best of what regional Victoria has to offer. Whether it’s a day trip with friends or a special occasion, this is the kind of place where memories are made.
With good food, excellent wine, and a picture-perfect setting, Fowles Wine has created a destination that’s equal parts indulgent and down-to-earth. So, pack your weekend bag, gather your brunch crew, and make the trip. Trust us—this is bottomless done right.
Fowles Wine’s bottomless brunches run every weekend from 11am-1pm until March 30 2025. Bookings available online.
