This month, the entire cast of Drag Race Down Under season 4 is getting back together, bringing a live show full of juicy behind-the-scenes tea and jaw-dropping performances to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
In anticipation for this momentous tour, Not Safe For Queers speaks with Lazy Susan who details how thrilled she is to work with Mitch’s Bitches once again, explains what to expect from a live Lazy Susan performance, and namedrops the queen she’s most excited to perform alongside.
“This tour has been the best excuse to just hang out with people you really enjoy the company of,” Lazy Susan tells Not Safe For Queers. “I’m so excited to see them again. Like, to have the whole divadom back together—to have Mitch’s Bitches back together—will be quite special.”

In true Lazy fashion, the Down Under reigning drag superstar will be bringing tricks aplenty to the mainstage. She jokes, “you can’t miss an opportunity to do some new fuckery in front of people.”
“So, yeah, there’s always something in the works. My poor seamstress, Mr James Andrews (AKA jandruze) is suffering, stoning, ruffling, doing everything. So, we’re going to have a big commotion hopefully, which I think is fabulous.”
Without giving too much away, Lazy continues, “It’s funny because people who watched the show haven’t seen me do spot numbers. Like, a classic Lazy Susan spot number is normally a whole production in itself—it’s a bit gory, a bit disgusting, a bit absurd. So, you can expect all those things.”
Of course, in addition to Lazy Susan, we’ll also have the absolute privilege of seeing the remaining nine queens of DRDU season 4 perform live. And it sounds like they’ve all got something special tucked (*wink, wink*) away for us.
Lazy explains, “it’s safe to say that our dancing divas will be dancing and divaing. Once again, if you only saw Karna Ford on the show, then you don’t understand her true powers, because she is incredible. And even Max—we saw her lip sync three times and we only got 20% of that girl’s natural abilities.”
“Then if you didn’t know, Lucina is an incredible singer, so she’ll be singing. And Nikita, she’s going to be doing some vogue work. We’re treating it as an opportunity to be like, ‘here’s the person behind those five minutes of television,’” she says.
The queen she’s most excited to perform alongside, however, is fellow Melburnian Brenda Bressed.
“I’m so excited just to be in the presence of Brenda Bressed when she sings. I don’t think people understand (because you didn’t get to see it as much on the show) that she is, like, the best singer that I’ve ever heard out of the entire drag race franchise,” Lazy says.
“Like, not just her natural ability, but the heart and soul that she brings…it’s incomparable. The night that she went home, we saw her sing at Mollie’s, and I was brought to tears. I’ve just never, like seen anything like her. She’s so amazing.”
